and who justifies such confidence.
The fear of many that they have se-
rious ailments opens a broad field for
the quacks and cultists who are ready
to treat these imaginary ills as though
they were real.

old brisk walk to the store on the cor-
ner becomes a mere shuffle and some-
thing to fear. As far as he is con-
cerned he already is doomed; each
step is dogged with the thought that
it may be the last one; unconsciously
lie begins to feel that he is not fit for
the race and so possibly may submit
to what he thinks is his fate and re-
sign himself to what may be decades
of waiting for death.
The individual is not qualified to
judge whether or not he suffers from
a weak or a diseased heart. To make
his life miserable because of snap
judgment on his part that his heart is
not functioning properly is the height
of folly. Symptons that may indicate
to him that he has heart trouble
should not be ignored. With such
symptoms he needs medical assurance
and advice. It may not be his heart
at all. It may be only a stomach con-
dition, simple and easy of correctmn,
causing distention and pressure against
his heart. Again, it may be heart
trouble, which if placed under expert
medical supervision need not cause
.the sufferer any great amount of con-
cern. Being a condition that very
likely is not at all dangerous if prop-
erly understood and treated early
enough, it would seem only logical
that the person who thinks he has
heart trouble should at once consult a
physician in whom he has confidence
A correlative selection from the
Christian Science text-book, "Science
and Health with Key to the Scrip-
tures," by Mary Baker Eddy, Said:
"The Christian Scienti..t, understand-
ing scientifically that all is Mind,
commences with mental causation, the
truth of being, to destroy the error.
This corrective is an alterative, reach-
ing to every part of the human sys-
tenl."

He Sees Best in Everything
An Irishman who had been in this
country a couple of years was asked
how he liked prohibition. He replied,
"It's a darned sight better than no li-
quor at all."--Exehange.
