Red Ribbon Week provided an opportunity for individuals and the community to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of Catalina Island's youth through a com- mitment to drug prevention and education and a personal com- mitment to live drug free. There was a lot support in Avalon youth in this weeklong celebration of awareness by Catalina Choices, Women's Forum, Avalon Schools PTA and Avalon Sheriffs Station. Some of Santa's helpers host a table table during a previous Catalina Ladies Christmas Branch events at St. Cathedne's Parish Hall. The 2014 Christmas brunch will be held Saturday, Dec. 6. This event is designed to honor the women who are the "Christmas planners, decorators, shoppers, bakers and caregivers."
