Oktoberfest on the Beach --Oct. 25 Raise a Stein for the Kids! Join us on Saturday, October 25th at the 1st Annual Oktoberfest on the Beach from lpm - 4pm on South Letters From page 1 One day I was in Avalon and two students from that 5th-grade class came by our house and asked if they could take Ms. Grieson some flowers. As some of you may know, Liz was quite physically challenged and was difficult to understand. I explained the situation to the girls, and they wanted to take her the flowers. I called Liz, and she said she would love to see the girls. We went to her house, the girls gave her the flowers and visited with her. Liz, the girls and I were all thrilled. It was a priceless experi- ence made possible by two girls' kindness, and the love for two cats, Leroy and John Tom. I just had to share this with you so you could share it with the Islander. Sincerely, Nancy Kellogg Palos Vewrdes Beach. $60 per person includes unlimited beer tastings, souvenir glass beer stein, musical enter- tainment provided by The German Zeitgeist Band, complimentary appetizers and a silent auction.
