IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA EDISON'S COMPANY'S
FUTURE GAS RATES ON SANTA CATALINA ISLAND
Southern California Edison Company (SCE) wishes to inform

filed Advice 112-G With the California Pubfic Utilities
Commission (Commission) requesting that this inc ased
co= of fuel be passed on to customers.

If the Commission approves this advice filing, the following
change in rates will become effective for service rendered on
and after September 1, 2000.

Island is 60 therms (a measure of the heat content of gas)
per month in the winter, and 25 therms per month in the
summer. If this advice filingis approved by the Commission,
the average residential customer's monthly bill will increase
by approximately $11.16 or 17.9 percent in the winter, and
$4.68 or 16.4 percent in the summer. However, the actual
