The weekly Kid’s Fishing Derby
is scheduled to return to the Green
Pleasure Pier. This is a free activ-
ity for kids are 3-16. Bring your
own rod & reel or dropline (or pur-
chase on the Green Pleasure Pier)
and join the fishing guide! Prizes
awarded every week following the
derby. Bait and gear are also avail-
able on the Pier. Debry is held 7—9

City of Avalon’s r:creation
department is reopenirg their
sport leagues for youth. Starting
on Sept. 19, they are bringing back
soccer for K-8th grade.
They are excited abort seeing
all the kids back on the field for
a fun day of learning and playing.
Registration is open now, online

in person at City Hall, 1nd ends
Sept. 10 on evaluation day.
It is just $38 for a full kit, 8
games and practices. The city is
looking for coaches and referees
to help shape our youth and teach
them the beautiful game.
