A salesman became tired of his job
and joined the police ~force. Several
months later a friend asked how he
liked his new position. "Well." he re-
plied, "the pay is fair and the hours
satisfactory, but what I like best is the
fact that the customer is always
wrong."
.In one recent survey of 1,0000 people,
says a University of Wisconsin pub-
lication, 55 per cent of women were
found to be wearing shoes that fit
only fairly well; 46 per cent of the
men were not well fitted; and 27 per
cent of the children were "poorly fit-
ted."
The customer pointed to tile Chinese
characters on his laundry ticket and
asked the Chinaman, "Is that my
name ?"
"No name, discliption," the China-
man answered. !'Means bald oI' man,
closs eyed, -lo teet'."--Wall Street
Journal.

Father: I thought ] issued an in-
junction against his seeing you any

Judge to prisoner : "What's your
name and occupation and what are
you charged with ?"
Prisoner: "My name is Sparks. I'm
an electrician and I'm charged with
battery."
Judge: "Officer, put this man in a
dry cell and conduct him there by a
short circuit."
"Corp. Sap is a chump, He sends
all his pay to a blonde he knows is
two-timing him."
"Why, the dame fool!"
"Out with it!" said the officer, "If
you can't say it, sing it."
The sailor took a long breath and
sang: "Should aukt acquaintance be
forgot and never brought to mind--
The Bosu.'a's Mate fell overboard--He's
a half a mi~e behind !"
