But One Avalon sophomore isn't an ev- eryday 10th-grader. Colin Eubank earned a place at Bard College at Simon's Rock, along with a Sub- stantial Acceleration to Excellence merit scholarship, for his academic and extracurricular achievements. Simon's Rack is, only exclu- sively early college in the United bright andhighly motivated students who have all begun a rigorous col- lege education after completing the 10th- or 1 lth-grade. Simon's Rock students complete their bachelor's degrees one or two .years ahead of their peejs. Simon's Rock receives a number of impressive applications every year, making the admission process highly selective. The. Director of Admission said: "Our Acceleration to Excellence merit scholarship is a -testament to the remarkable nature of lais academic and extracurricular accgmplishments."
