HELP WANTED CATALINA ISLAND COMPANY BANQUET PERSONNEL REQUIRED BANQUET BARTENDERS Banquet Bartenders needed to prepare & serve beverages providing h igh-quetity service. RESTAURANT PERSONNEL REQUIRED RESTAURANT HOUSEKEEPER Restaurant Housekeeper need to clean and maintain all restroom and changing rooms on the property along with maintain supplies and ensuring equipment in restrooms is in=proper working order. Must be able to work independently and be knowledgeable of various cleaning agents and their uses. Bilingual English/Spanish an asset. HOSTESSES Hostesses needed to welcome guests as they arrive the restaurant. Will interact with guests as they exit the restaurant to ensure they had an enjoyable experience. Will monitor open dining sections for available tables, estimate wait times and seat guests. Make sure guests are comfortable while waiting to be seated and keep them informed of the wait status. Will be responsible for answering phones and booking reservations. The hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff, so it is important to be customer service oriented and have a positive attitude. KITCHEN STEWARDS The Kitchen Steward is responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of our kitchen operations. Duties include: washing dishes, cleaning cooking equipment and ensuring the surrounding work areas such as floors, walls and counter tops are sanitized. Also responsible for checking kitchen equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Must have a valid Driver's License. If you enjoy working in hospitality, have good interpersonal skills and want to work for a dynamic growing company, please apply on-line at www. or email resume to Apply in person at: 150 Metropole Avenue, Avalon, Ca ~)0704 (Human Resources Department) D-643 ORDINANCE NO. 1158-17_ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AVALON AUTHORIZING ADOPTION OF NEW OR INCREASED SALTWATER, SEWER AND SOLID WASTE SERVICE FEES BY RESOLUTION, AMENDING SECTION 6-7.252(B) OF THE AVALON MUNICIPAL CODE ACCORDINGLY, AND TAKING CERTAIN OTHER ACTIONS RELATING THERETO WHEREAS, the City of Avalon ("City") provides services relating to saltwater, sewer and solid waste to residents within the City's jurisdiction, charges service fees and charges for providing such services to its residents, and collects such fees and charges on the property tax roll; and WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code section 5471 ("Section 5471 ") and the statutes following previously required public agencies that collect public utility fees and charges on the property tax roll, such as the City's saltwater, sewer and solid waste fees, to adopt new or increased fees by ordinance; and WHEREAS, effective January 1", 2017, Section 5471 and the statutes following were amended to allow for adoption of new or increased service fees for saltwater, sewer and solid waste by resolution as well as by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City previously adopted fees and charges for saltwater, sewer and solid waste service by ordinance in complianCe with Section 5471, and now wishes to authorize future new or increased saltwater, sewer and solid waste service fees and charges by resolution as well as by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City fu~er wishes to amend section 6-7.252(b) of the City's Municipal Code, to allow for the sewer service charge to be adopted or increased by resolution as well as ordinance. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF Tile CITY OF AVALON DOES ORDAIN AS FoLLows: Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference City's annual Section 2. The City hereby authorizes any future fees or charges for saltwater, sewer or solid waste, to be collected by resolution in addition to being adopted by ordinance. Seclion 3. Section 6-7.252(b) of Article 2 of Chapter 7 of Title 6 of the City of Avalon Municipal Code is hereby amended in its entirety and replaced as follows: sec. 6-7.252 Charges (b) All premises in the City shall be subject to an annual sewer service charge representing such premises' share of the burden placed on the sewer system, which amount shall be adopted by resolution or ordinance of the City Council in accordance with Article XlII D of the California Constitution. In those instances where premises are not connected to the sewer system, the annual sewer charge shall reflect the burden placed on the sewer system by users of the premises who are required to use public sanitary facilities. Section 4. The provisions~of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. If any provision, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions of this Ordinance or the application of those provisions. Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its adoption. Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.
