Price i S right for Lilli LILLI DANA'S EPISODE WILL BE BROADCAST ON MEMORIAL DAY BY CHARLES M. KELLY A local Avalon resident will be among the contestants on the Me- morial Day episode of "The Price is Right" game show. "It was totally fun," said Lillian "Lilli" Dana. "I got to be myself," she said. The Island resident guessed she was goofy enough for them. Dana didn't plan on becoming a "Price" contestant when she joined her son and a group of 12 or 15 people to join the audience earlier this year. It was her son's 26th birthday and he was hoping to become a contestant on the show himself. : "I wish it had been him," Dana said. Even so, having his mom compete on "The Price is Right" made his birthday a special day. It was Dana who attracted the attention of producers as she "danced like a maniac" on her chair. As Dana explained it, anyone can try to get into the audience, but if you are part of a group of 15 to 20 people, producers put you onto a special list to get chosen as a contestant. She said prospective contes- tants need to be "extremely extro- verted" to get a chance to actually play. "It raises the energy level," she said. "There were a lot of people just sitting there like duds," Dana said. "I was doing the bump dance with the contestants who were with me," Dana said, referring to the other people who answered the famous call to "come on down." "I can't wait to see it myself," Dana said. "It was liberating." "Sometimes I have to behave myself because I have to attend business meetings," Dana said. Also, her boyfriend - we won't say his name - reportedly doesn't like it when she dances wildly. It was the price she had to pay. However, her boyfriend wasn't with her that day in the TV stu- dio--so she danced, waived her hair as she tried to draw attention to her group. Finally her time had come and she was called down to "Contes- tant's Row". She was successful there and had a chance to compete for a brand new car in one of the shows pricing games. Dana wanted to get that car for her mother. She asked producers if she could touch the car and she was allowed to. This wasn't the only game Dana played. She also spun the "Big Wheel" and made it all the way to the "Showcase Showdown," which takes place at the end of the show. You'll have to watch the 10 a.m., Monday, May 30 broadcast on CBS to find out if she won. ' JUST FOR THE Before you go back to the mainland... take a little Catalina with you. T Subscribe Today. SCE offers a variely of programs and services to help income-qualified customers reduce their energy bills. In Application 11-05-017, SCE requested CPUC approval to continue such programs over the 2012 - 2014 period and to collect combined total electdc revenues of $203.966 million over this three- year pedod to fund these programs. If approved by the CPUC, SCE's request would maintain the same amount of revenues authorized for the 2009 - 2011 program cycle. Because the requested electric revenues represent a "continuation" of the currently authorized revenues, SCE does not expect this application to result in an increase of customer base rates. THE CPUC WELCOME; YOUR PARTICIPATION AND COMMENTS Before acting on SCE's Application for Approval of 2012 - 2014 CAR[ = and Energy Savings Assistance Programs and Budgets, the CPUC may hold evidentiary hearings. At the hearings, SCE, the CPUC's independent Division of Ratepayer Advocates (DRA), and other formal parties of record provide testimony and are subject to cross-examination before a CPUC Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). These hearings are open to the public, but only those who are formal parties of record may participate. Parties may offer proposals that differ from those presented in SCE's application. Ater considering all proposals end evidence presented during the formal hearhg process, the assigned ALJ will issue a proposed decision which the CPUC will either adopt, amend, or modify in issuing its final Decision on the application. The CPUC's decision may differ from what is requested by SCE in its application.
