Fortunately, winter storms have provided some welcome relief. Based on water levels in the reservoir, Southern California Edison (SCE) received authorization from the California Public Utilities Commission to deactivate Stage 3 Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing, which is triggered When the reservoir falls below 200 acre feet, and return to Stage 1 Mandatory Conservation. Stage 1 was activated on March 7, 2017. Customers are no onger subject to daily allotments, but S~age 1 does have restrictions on the use of water fit for drinking. Island residents, who already had some of the best water use practices in the state, have been effective in reducing our water use.
