Killer Cookies and Buffalo Jerky top the list of items now available for pur- chase online; top selling gifts & souvenirs will be featured on the website, as well. Hikers, camp- ers, and general Catalina Island enthusiasts will also find useful information on the Trans Cata- lina Trail, the Catalina Aero Club along with special events held all over the island (encompassing Avalon, Two Harbors and the local camps & coves). Locals and visitors are now able to pre-book 2012 Summer BBQs online. Transportation can also be booked directly on the website for these BBQ. GABE HERNANDEZ WINS SAN JOAQUIN GOLF TITLE BY STEVE HALL nandez caught fire and Junior Gabe Hernandez re-- ing 73, one over par, cently competed against the best players in the San Joaqun League Individuals Tournament and came out on top, champion of the entire league. On the first day of the tourna- ment Hernandez shot a 79 at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course and finished the day in 2nd Place, two strokes behind the leader Cody Lo from Fairmont Prep. On the second day, at Tijeras Creek, Her- ;hot a blaz- to "capture Avalon's first Individm d Champi- onship. Steve Hall is coach of the Ava- lon High School Boys Golf team. % Avalon Ball The Avalon Ball on Saturday,'May 12, was a journey into the past when Big Bands played for huge audiences in the Casino Ballroom. The night featured an evening of dancing to music from the 1920s and 30s. Guests came dressed to the nines, many in the period dress of the art deco era.
