SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON" An EDISON Ih,TERNATIOh~AL˘ Company Stage I Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing Update - March 2017 California's severe drought resulted in a reduced water supply in Catalina's Middle Ranch Reservoir. Fortunately, winter storms have provided some welcome relier. Based on water levels in the reservoir. Southern California Edison (SCE) received authorization from the California Public Utilities Commission to deactivate Stage 3 Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing, which is triggered when the reservoir falls below 200 acre feet. and return to Stage 1 Mandatory Conservation. Stage 1 was activated on March 7 2017. Customers are no longer subject to daily allotments, but Stage 1 does have restrictions on the use of water fit for drinking. Island residents, who already had some of the best water use practices in the state, have been effective in reducing our water use. Please continue to use water wisely during Stage I Mandatory Conservation. March 75o00 Water Supply Status and Stage 1 Results • As of April 20, 2017 the Middle Ranch Reservoir water level was 634 acre feet. • In March, 2017, water use declined 46 percent even with a 40 percent increase in visitors to the island; 14 acre feet of water was used compared to 26 acre feet in March, 2013.
