ln’ granting Curtin Maritime a freight certificate, CommisSioner Randolph
wrote that
the Curtin Maritime CPCN “satisfies the Commission’s standards for a
CPCN and is
consistent with Commission policy favoring competition.” This was
strongly supported
by the CPUC’s long—standing policies and the record‘created at the
CPUC’s detailed
evidentiary hearings and the local hearing in Avalon. In furtherance of a
vigorous
and competitive freight service ma‘ketplace for the City of Avalon and
the Island as
a whole, Curtin Maritime looks ,forvard to working with the Santa Catalina
Island
Company at Pebbly Beach’s ressertial freight facilities. Multiple
providers will ensure
that Catalina'lsland consumers willhave a choice in providers and will
pay fair prices
for quality goods and services. I
We again thank the people of Avalon for their continued support Of our CPCN
and throughout the next step of this process. '
