Immigration authorities placed a hold on the man due to his being in the United States illegally. Sunday, December 14 Battery Arrest--A resident was arrested for battery on another resident. Tuesday, December 16 Ecstasy Arrest--A resident, identified as a known gang mem- ber, was arrested for possession of ecstasy and for sale and for pos- session of marijuana. They were caught later. Their vehicle was towed away. Friday, December 19 Controlled Substance Arrests Two residents were arrested. One resident was arrested for posses- sion of methamphetamine and rock cocaine for sale, driving under the influence of a controlled sub- stance and of alcohol. The other resident was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Steroid Arrest--A resident was arrested for possession of illegal steroids and syringes. Sunday, December 21 Boat Stolen--A resident's boat was stolen. Report taken. Fraud--A suspect call;d a resident and conned the resident into wiring almost $1,000 to them to supposedly bail out a loved one from a mainland jail. Report taken. Monday, December 22 Controlled Substance Arrest-- A resident was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled .substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Grand Theft A resident iden- tified as a Vons Market employee reportedly stole approximately $2,000 from their work and dis- appeared to the mainland. Report taken. The investigation is on- going. Tuesday, December 23 Drunk in Public--A resident was arrested in front of the Chi " Chi Club for being drunk in pub- lic. Drunk in Public--Another resi- dent was arrested on the same date in front of the Chi Chi Club for being drunk in public. Wednesday, December 24 Vandalism--Juvenile residents, female, vandalized the women's restroom on the Green Pier. The investigation is on-going. Thursday, December 25 Marijuana Citation--A resident was arrested and cited for posses- sion of marijuana. Friday, December 26 Drunk Driving Arrest--A resi- dent was arrested for drunk driv- ing. Saturday, December 27 Controlled Substance Arrest-- A resident was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, being drunk in public and for violating a court order. Drunk in PublicA resident, identified as a known gang mem- ber, was arrested for being drunk in public. Sunday, December 28 Drunk in Public--A resident was arrested for being" drunk in public. Probation Violation--Deputies wrote a report of a probation vio- lation by a resident identified as a gang member. Monday, December 29 Vehicle Impound -A vehicle was impounded for lack of regis- tration. Burglary Report--A resident's property was burglarized. Report taken. Tuesday, December 30 Suspicious Circumstances--A firearm was, recovered. Deputies took a report of suspicious circum- stances. Wednesday, December 30 Burglary Report--A resident's property was burglarized. Report taken. Search Warrant and Arrest--A search warrant was served a res- ident's house and two residents were arrested. One juvenile resi- dent was arrested ,for possession of hashish and for possession for sale of marijuana. The father of the juvenile was arrested for possession of false identification. Immigration author- ities placed a hold on the man due to his being in the United States illegally. Baywatch Avalon Report The following is Baywatch Avalon and Isthmus (BWA and BWI) rescue boat activity for the week of Jan. 7 through 13 1/8 11:45 BWA received care of patient from BWI and continued treatment enroute to the hospital. 1600 BWA and Catalina East End SAR Team conduct rope rescue drills including lowering, raising, victim packaging and rappelling at LA County FS 55. 22:16 BWI respond to an EMS call, to a male patient with chest pain who was assessed and trans- ported to hospital. 1/10 10 a.m. BWI respond to an EMS call, to a female patient with difficulty breathing. Patient was assessed and transported to hospital 11 a.m. BWA received care of patient from BWI; continued treat- ment and transported to hospital. 3:30 p.m. BWI responded to an EMS call, to a female with dif- ficulty breathing. The patient was treated on scene then care was transferred to hospital for further care. 1/11 6:20 a.m. BWA responded to an EMS call, to an unresponsive female. The patient was transport- ed to hospital for further care. 1/13 4:30 p.m. BWA Responded to an EMS call, to the cruise ship "Paradise" for a patient with a medical emergency. The patient was treated and transported to the hospital.
